Went for breakfast at this joint, the other half made a booking for 9am and when we went there, there were already 2 tables taken.

The overall decor of the place is not overly cosy, only noisy customers will ruin its mood.

I ordered the hearty breakfast because its just a manly thing to do.  Then I toned down the manliness by ordering a Ribena.  Life is about balance y’know?

The other half ordered eggs benedict and iced caffe mocha.  And a red velvet cake to share (couple mah, must share something right?).  And she pretends to be an expert at red velvet cake, saying that the best she has tasted for now is at Marmalade Pantry.

I was asked “How is it?”.  My reply? Normal lor.  Its eggs, mushrooms, sausages and bacon, how fantastic can it be?  You must be a terrible cook to screw that up.  The bread however was unique so that’s a little plus point.  It was soft, fluffy and slightly sweet, somehow I think the butter I plastered on it kinda hid the taste even more.  But hey, I didn’t know the bread was different!

The other half liked the eggs benedict, but she is so ching chong that she can only say the words “nice” and “I like”.

Out came the red velvet cake and the red velvet cake expert wannabe says its “not bad” (not bad, another word in the vocabulary).  Just for comparison sake, she says its better than Coffee Bean’s red velvet cake which she feels is too tough.

Would I come back?  Yeah, only at 9am when its quieter.

Remember to put your parking coupons, because a mobile summons uncle walked by when we were in the bistro.  But amazingly I didn’t get a ticket.  I parked right outside the Singapore Pools joint and he probably went to buy 4D instead.  Lucky lucky!
